Étienne Beausoleil is a set designer based in Montreal whose work spans theatre, film, and installation art. A graduate of the École nationale de théâtre du Canada, he has designed productions for the Centaur Theatre, the Théâtre du Nouveau Monde, and the Stratford Festival, as well as for festivals in Berlin, Lyon, and Buenos Aires. His sets for Love and Anger feature the worn linoleum floors and institutional lighting of a legal aid office translated into something that feels simultaneously documentary and slightly fevered — a space where the stakes are high enough to make ordinary objects look dangerous.
