Josephine Park

Josephine Park is a Korean-Canadian costume designer who has developed a particular expertise in contemporary realistic work — clothing that carries character history in its wear patterns, its fit, and its compromises. She trained at Ryerson University and has since designed for Factory Theatre, the Young Centre, Soulpepper, and Theatre Calgary. She has a particular reputation for working-class and legal milieu productions, in which her research into occupational dress produces costumes that feel undesigned in the best possible sense: as though the characters simply got dressed that morning without thinking about how they looked.
