Tony Marchetti grew up in Hamilton and came to professional theatre after a decade working construction and, briefly, as a short-order cook. He trained at Humber College and has since made a career playing men whose surfaces are rougher than their interiors — a quality that makes him particularly well suited to Walker's working-class heroes. He has appeared at Theatre Aquarius, Theatre Passe Muraille, and the Toronto Fringe, where his one-man show Rebar ran for three sold-out weeks before transferring to Factory Theatre. He is a two-time Ember nominee and a recipient of the Thornton Award.
