Vivienne Cross has spent forty years on the Canadian stage playing women whose authority and composure mask something more ambivalent underneath, and she brings all of that accumulated knowledge to the role of Eleanor. Born in Halifax and trained at the National Theatre School in the early 1980s, she came to prominence in a series of productions at the Shaw Festival that showcased her remarkable range across comedy and drama. She has since worked at every major regional theatre in the country and received a lifetime achievement Ember Award in 2018. She is also a founding member of the Women in Theatre Advocacy Coalition and has been instrumental in reshaping industry norms around gender equity in casting.
